Ashley Chsney- Survivor Leader & Executive Director at Set Free Monterey Bay
Ashley Chesney is a Survivor Leader, author, and advocate in the Anti-Trafficking Movement. She is an inspiring speaker, an expert trainer, and the Executive Director at Set Free Monterey Bay. Additionally, Ashley serves as an alumni member of the CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) Advisory Board through the National Center of Youth Law. It is through her own journey, she has found healing that she wants to share with others. Ashley is the author of the memoir “From the Ashes” and she believes that advocacy, connection, and hope are key in guiding other survivors on a path to reclaim their lives after exploitation. She graduated summa cum laude from Cal State University Monterey Bay with her B.A. in Collaborative Health and Human Services from an interdisciplinary program that held emphasis on nonprofit management and social work. Ashley is a sex trafficking survivor turned thriver.
Jeff Devoll- The Reach Group, Executive Director
Jeff Devoll is an international speaker, author, and the executive director of The Reach Group, a collaboration between two non-profits and an NGO. A husband of 31 years and father to three adult children, Jeff is also a pilot and off-roading enthusiast. Through his mentoring program, Connected Coaching, Jeff has positively impacted the lives of over 3,000 students. Additionally, he has led nearly 15,000 students and leaders on humanitarian expeditions to more than a dozen countries. As the cofounder of the Say Something assembly program, Jeff has spoken to over 500,000 students in public schools, focusing on human trafficking prevention. His work has involved partnerships with the FBI, Homeland Security, state attorneys general, local law enforcement, and community organizations. Jeff’s international work has included housing projects, “Hope Villages,” focused on recovery for families that have experienced trafficking and domestic abuse and forced child marriage prevention.

Does this event cost money to attend?
No! This is a free event. Registration is required in order for us to plan accordingly.
Is there parking available/accessible?
We have access to 100 spaces on the 7th FLOOR of the 12th Street Parking Garage, (820 12th Street Modesto, CA 95354 – mention you are there for the “Event Center”). These are available on a first come first serve basis. *IMPORTANT: Free parking is only available on the 7th floor, basement parking in the garage will need to be paid as per usual, otherwise face potential ticketing and fines. Once the 100 parking spots are full, guests will need to pay for parking or find street parking. Carpooling is encouraged. Additional parking is available, behind the Martin G. Petersen and on 14th Street between H and G Streets.
