#iam change MEN’S MOVEMENT

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to the WP #iamchange Freedom Walk on April 7, 2018! Despite the rainy weather and change of location, we had around 250 people come out to join us for a public stand against the evil that is sex trafficking. The biggest achievement – 90% of those participants and volunteers were MEN!

This event was not only organized for the men but also BY men. Leaders and members from local churches met with us for months prior to the walk to make important decisions and shape the message and event. They sent their men to the walk, who showed up ready to work IN THE RAIN before the sun even came up! God was at work through their hands.

Pastor Brian Hunt from Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca shared meaningful words about what God is calling us all to do and staying engaged in the battle. Guest speaker Remi Adeleke, an actor and former Navy SEAL, spoke to the crowd with transparency about the struggles he and so many other men face. We were able to touch the lives of those attending the walk – and even those driving down busy McHenry Avenue. The Holy Spirit was there in full force.

Much more is in the works for the #iamchange Men’s Movement. Make sure to follow the page on Facebook to stay up to date.

CSA Community Trainings

Through the Community Services Agency of Stanislaus County, we’ve been able to hold two community trainings in 2018.  These events were free to the public and gave professionals in the community the chance to learn how to better serve Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC). In April, Dr. Jodi Quas shared useful information on communicating with children who have experienced trauma.

In June, Russell Wilson shared his heart-wrenching stories of surviving “The Life” from the perspective of a survivor of sex trafficking. Both trainings were well-received and incredibly enriching for those in attendance. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for upcoming events.
